The Day You Went Away is a collection of songs I've written over a lifetime about loss, mourning, and recovery. Originally, I wrote them to help myself in my own times of loss. Writing, playing, singing, and recording these songs helped me deal with my mourning. The creative process forced me to confront my feelings of loss, greater than any I even knew existed.

As you know, recovery is nothing to ever take for granted. It's a gift you must give yourself, especially on the days when you don't want it or don't think you deserve it. You do. Even after the passing of time, when I play these songs, I remember what inspired the words and the melodies. I'm grateful that they helped me, and now I share them with you.

Maybe some of my words, a melody, a sentiment might be that spark that you need to help you, or maybe a loved one. Listen to help get through these times, and later, listen for the music itself.
